Aaron Rose is a born and bred Missouri man who loves to enjoy the outdoors and all the hidden gems that COMO has to offer. He is an avid duck and goose hunter, KC Chiefs fan and loves COMO with all his heart. Whether you know him as the Rose of Real Estate (Broker/ Salesperson real estate agent with RE/MAX Boone Realty for over 20+ years), DJ Fat White Boy (mixing tunes & emceeing parties for 25+ years) or even as the guy with the deep voice on those MO-X commercials, you can’t miss his larger-than-life personality.
Aaron looks forward to making something large to match his larger-than-life personality out of metal with his mentor, Matt Moyer, for this year’s competition. He’s proudly supported by his wife, Jori. his two children , Cece (age 8) and Walker (age 6), and two golden retrievers, Chunk and Loki.
Matt Moyer earned an BFA from Illinois State University and an MFA from the University of Missouri.
Matt's work is rooted within traditional craft as it pertains to both art and skilled trades, and all facets of his creative work have an industrial sensibility. This stems from his blue-collar upbringing in Moline, Illinois. He maintains his active ceramics and sculpture studio at his home here in Columbia and teaches at Columbia College. He also teaches at Missouri Valley College in Marshall.
